Dumfries Baptist Church has ended its search for a new minister with Reverend Alistair Purss taking on the role.
The congregation has had to wait since March for the position to be filled after Reverend Alan Donaldson left to take up the post of General Director of the Baptist Union of Scotland.
The congregation are grateful to the many ministers and friends who have helped out so willingly over the course of the vacancy.
Alistair is married to Sharon and they have three boys Ryan, Kieran and Aidan.
They are moving from Houghton-Le-Spring where Alistair has been senior pastor for five years at Bethany Christian Centre.
Dumfries Baptist Church will be the fourth church in which they’ve served together since they graduated from Glasgow Bible College, where they met in the late 1980s.
