How do we communicate peace? A talk with Jeremy Gilley of Peace One Day

Award-winning filmmaker Jeremy Gilley will be in Glasgow on Monday September 19 to tell the story of how the seemingly intangible idea of a global Peace Day became a United Nations-endorsed reality.

Mr Gilley (pictured with Scots singer and peace activist Annie Lennox) will use the launch of Social Media Week – marked by more than 400 events in 11 cities around the world, with Glasgow as the UK’s representative – to describe how he’s using social media to take the campaign to the next level by asking every individual around the world to help create the largest cessation of violence ever by committing to a Global Truce next year on September 21, 2012.

Jeremy’s talk will be followed by a question and answer session along with interactive audience participation, making the event a truly engaging social experience exploring the journey of Peace One Day.

The event takes place from 9 – 11.30 am on September 19 at Skypark, Suite 2/1, 8 Elliot Street, Glasgow G3 8EP, and begins with a free breakfast. You can register to attend at the Social Media Week Glasgow website.
