Pensioners assaulted, robbed, in Cathedral

Two pensioners were assaulted and robbed as they did voluntary work in Aberdeen's St Machar Cathedral yesterday. The man and woman were last night said to be very shaken after the attack by two thugs.

The thieves initially targeted a till in a small shop at the cathedral but turned to the pensioners when they found that there was no money in it.

A handbag was stolen from the woman by the male and female thieves who then pushed their two victims before running away.
