Catholic primary plans progress
Detailed plans have been tabled to construct a new Roman Catholic primary school in Dumfries. The proposed development at the former Ladyacre children's unit is part of the council's public private partnership school modernisation programme. The proposed new primary will replace the towns two existing RC schools of St Teresa's and St Andrew's.
The plans secured outline planning permission in 2004 - based on a capacity of 250 pupils.
The new school will also include provision for 30 nursery places.
It will be based on a 1.3 hectare site opposite the town's RC secondary, St Joseph's College.
