Churchgoers told to pray for hit-and-run driver

Members of the church attended by the family of four-year-old Olivia Donachie have been asked to pray for the driver of the car which killed her.

Around 300 worshippers gathered at Morningside Baptist Church for a tearful ceremony yesterday morning - four days after Olivia and mum Rachel, 33, were knocked down yards from their Colinton home.

Reverend Karl Martin paid tribute to Olivia and said she had "gone to a better place".

He also asked the congregation to pray for "the man who committed this crime".

Mr Martin said he hoped the driver would find "salvation in Christ" and that "justice will be done".
