Church man banned for three years
A church minister who downed two bottles of wine before setting out on a 160-mile drive has been banned from the road for three years.Thomas Findlay, 62, who works for the Mercy Ships charity, was stopped after an anonymous tip-off to police.
His car was seen weaving across the road in Perth, near the end of his journey from Newcastle.
Officers also discovered a half-empty bottle of wine in his car. When breathalysed, Findlay, who had a previous drink-driving conviction, was found to be more than two-and-a-half times the limit.
