Church mural is window to past and future

Two East Kilbride artists have teamed with a local church to create a mural depicting the town’s past and possible future.

Edward Marle and Vince Clark painted the magnificent feature in the Old Parish Church Halls after an invitation from Rev Anne Paton.

Entitled ‘O God our help in ages past, our hope for years to come’, the work is part of a massive renovation of the halls.

One half of the mural, by St Leonards man Vince Clark, is themed around the future, with pictures of children and space travel.

The other half, by the Calderwood artist Edward Marle, is based on East Kilbride’s past.
