The nightmare is over for parents

The parents of kidnapped BBC journalist Alan Johnston said "the nightmare is over" as they arrived to smiles and applause at London's Heathrow Airport.

Graham and Margaret Johnston had travelled from their home in Scotland to London to attend an Amnesty International awards ceremony on behalf of their son.

Their relief and joy was evident earlier, as they spoke to reporters outside their home in the Argyll village of Lochgoilhead.

The devout Christians found solace attending their local Church of Scotland in Lochgoilhead and Kilmorich.
