Former minister accused of murder
A retired Kirk minister has appeared in court charged with the murder of his 71-year-old wife. The Reverend Richard Coley, 70, was arrested on Thursday after the body of Isabella Coley, 71, was found at their home in Mount Vernon, Glasgow.Mr Coley was minister at Victoria Tollcross Church of Scotland between 1971 and 2004. His wife is reported to have been ill for the past few years.
Mr Coley made no plea or declaration at Glasgow Sheriff Court.
He was remanded in custody by Sheriff Brian Kearney pending further inquiries.
