Church welcomes new rector

Newly-appointed Rector of Haddington's Holy Trinity Episcopal Church, Rev Paul Keown, has been formally instituted by the Bishop of Edinburgh, the Right Rev Brian Smith.

The institution service, which took place inside Holy Trinity Church, was attended by approximately 140 people made up of several members of the clergy from within the Diocese of Edinburgh, Mr Keown's family and members of the laity from Swansea and East Lothian.

Following the event, a church spokesman said: "It was a very happy service at which Paul was presented with symbolic gifts of a bible, a stole, bread and wine and the keys to the church so that 'the doors of this place may be open to all people'".
