Reversing Blair's permissive agenda

Gordon Brown has only been on the job a month now, but he's making it clear the permissive days of the Blair administration may soon be over. Brown, the son of a Church of Scotland minister, says family values shaped his political beliefs.

"All I believe, and all I try to do, comes from the values I grew up with - duty, honesty, hard work, family and respect for others," Brown explains.

He can tighten the laws, but to achieve real change, Brown will need to deal with the reasons why so many British get stoned, dead drunk and gambling-addicted. That's his real challenge.
