Event to highlight world poverty

Community leaders from some of the world's poorest countries are in Glasgow for an international development conference.

Representatives from Rwanda, Uganda, El Salvador and India will be among those taking part in the Scottish Catholic International Aid Fund (SCIAF) event.

The visitors will be in Scotland for the next fortnight to meet a range of charities and government ministers.

The Scottish Executive recently gave SCIAF £250,000 to help those in Darfur.
