Six in running to be next Moderator

A wide range of candidates has been nominated for the post of Moderator of the General Assembly of the Church of Scotland.

The ministers named were: David Arnott, of Hope Park Church of St Andrews; Barry Dunsmore of St Columba's, London; Alan Greig, of Kintore Parish Church, Kintore; David Lunan, Clerk to the Presbytery of Glasgow; Dr Marjory MacLean, Depute Clerk to the General Assembly and Colin Sinclair, of Palmerston Place Church, Edinburgh.

The decision will be made at a meeting of the Committee to Nominate the Moderator on 30 October. It will hear proposers and seconders speak to their nominations before voting to nominate the person who will be presented as Moderator Designate to the General Assembly on 15 May, 2008.
