Christian prayer for healing to be offered at shopping centre

Christians are starting a service offering prayer for healing at the Oak Mall shopping centre in Greenock.

The Healing Room will be operated by local interdenominational group Inverclyde Christian Initiative from 11am to 1pm each Wednesday from 7 November.

Chris Jewell of the initiative said: “The concept of Healing Rooms is that they are open to everyone, whether they have any church connection or not, and prayer is offered free of charge by small teams of trained volunteers who come from different local churches."

Initially the Healing Rooms reception area will be in the mall’s walk way each Wednesday morning clearly identified, with prayer taking place nearby in private rooms.

If there is a demand, further opening hours will be offered. Local churches are being alerted to the new facility.

There are Healing Rooms in operation elsewhere in Scotland in Carnoustie, East Kilbride, Edinburgh, Glasgow, Johnstone, Larkhall, Oban, Orkney, Peebles, Shetland, Stirling and Troon.
