Kirk breaks new ground with meeting in Polmont Young Offenders Institution
The Mission & Discipleship Council, which has responsibility for the Kirk's youth work, is set to meet at Polmont Young Offenders Institution next Wednesday, 14 November.The visit is set to take place during Prisoner’s Week 2007, the theme of which is Who Cares?
Council members will tour the prison and learn more about work being undertaken by prison staff to support the young people in their care.
Rev Dr Angus Morrison, convener of the council, said: "This provides us with a timely and appropriate opportunity to affirm our support of the valuable work of the Scottish Prison Service and of its staff."
