Give a gift and light up a life at Christmas
The Salvation Army's Christmas Present Appeal is launched on Friday 23 November across the UK and Ireland. The Army is aiming to collect hundreds of thousands of gifts and toys for children, young people and others who will have little or nothing under their Christmas tree on Christmas morning.
Until 16 December, at most of The Salvation Army's community churches and centres across the country - around 750 - generous members of the public will be helping to make Christmas happy for people in their own area.
A short video showing how The Salvation Army Christmas Present Appeal works in one area - the Potteries, in Staffordshire - features Jan Williams, Robbie Williams' mum, who has been a supporter of the appeal in the community for the past three years.
