Dunottar welcomes new minister

Dunottar Parish Church welcomed its new minister at her service of induction last Thursday. Reverend Rosslyn Duncan was presented with a cassock by Mrs Eliza Watt, the eldest member of the church, who will be 103 on December 9, and a Home Communion Set and flowers by six-year-old Katie Louise Davidson, who was representing the younger Sunday School members.

Though called to Dunnottar, Mrs Duncan said she sees herself as very much a parish minister for the wider community and hopes to become involved in the schools, care homes and hospital.

"I am intending to go into the town and meet people. I would like them to introduce themselves to me as I want to be a town minister not just a congregation minister."

Dunnottar is the first parish for the former Dollar resident, who came to the ministry after studying as a mature student at New College, Edinburgh. For the last two years she has been an assistant at Dunblane Cathedral.
