Minister charged with his wife's murder dies
A retired Kirk minister charged with the murder of his elderly wife has been found dead.Rev Richard Coley, 70, was arrested in July after the body of Isabella Coley, 71, was found at their home in the Mount Vernon area of Glasgow. Coley was charged with murder and remanded in custody before being released on bail.
He was minister at Victoria Tollcross Church of Scotland between 1971 and 2004.
At the time of her death it was believed that the couple had both attempted suicide but he was found bleeding and survived the incident.
Isabella Coley, who was 70 when she died, is said to have been in poor health in recent years and had gone through a heart operation in 2001.
Friends said her health had continued to deteriorate and she developed dementia.
