Scots Church responds to 'pro-abortion' survey findings

The findings of a YouGov survey which suggested that 43 per cent of British Catholics supported a woman’s right to abortion have been challenged by the Church.

The Universe has learnt that the number of Catholics questioned was just 222 out of a total poll size of 1,983, meaning that only around 100 individuals supported abortion.

The number of Catholics in Britain is around 4.8 million. There was also no distinction on the survey as to whether people practised their faith or not.

John Deighan, parliamentary officer of the Scottish Catholic Bishops’ Conference, said the miniscule sample made the findings dubious.
