Church receives £641,000 grant
A Highland church has received an early Christmas present - confirmation of a £641,000 grant from the Heritage Lottery Fund.Work to restore Cromarty East Church in the Black Isle village will now start on site in the spring.
Earlier this year the £1.2million restoration project was earmarked for the grant after it received a "stage one pass".
However, a further application was needed to confirm the level of grant and give the project the final go-ahead.
Now that the "stage two pass" has been received from the HLF, specialist contractors can be appointed and work can begin.
