Scots padre leads Afghan service

A Scots minister will lead a Christmas carol service for British troops serving in one area of Afghanistan.

Padre Neil Allison is a former minister of Glenrothes Baptist Church in Fife.

He will lead the service at the British Army base in Lashkar Gar in the Helmand province of Afghanistan. A temporary "kirk" has been set up in a tent.

Sailors, soldiers and airmen will be invited to remember the 11 soldiers from 52 Brigade who have been killed in the current conflict.
