New Year's Honours List

On the face of it, few Scottish Christians appear in the New Year's Honours List, writes the Publisher. But the following are of interest, and if you know of Scottish Christians on the list, please let us know:

Sister Mary Ross, lately clinical director of the Notre Dame Centre, is made MBE for services to children and families in Glasgow.

Artist Alison Watt, whose painting 'Still' hangs in the Memorial Chapel of Old St Paul's Episcopal Church in Edinburgh, has been awarded the OBE in the New Year's Honours List.

Dr Mary Elizabeth Tanner, OBE, President of the World Council of Churches, has been made a Dame Commander of the British Empire (DBE) for services to the worldwide Anglican Church (sic).

Ephraim Joseph Borowski is made MBE for services on behalf of the Jewish Community in Scotland.
