Name-change for Industrial Mission
Scottish industrial chaplains have a new name, Work Place Chaplaincy Scotland, and a new website address to go with it.National co-ordinator Lewis Rose said: "We have to move with the times. When you mention industrial work you think of the 60s, things like steel work and coal mining.
"We provide a chaplaincy service to businesses all over Scotland. Our primary objective is to support staff in whatever way they feel necessary, and we feel the new title highlights our inclusiveness, and the need for interfaith relations."
There are currently nine chaplains throughout Scotland, four of which are employed by the Church of Scotland.
In addition, there are over 50 voluntary chaplains ranging from the Shetlands to the Borders. Their pastoral care is available to workers in shopping centres, airports and even power stations.
