Group going to help youngsters at African school
A group from Inverclyde are going on the trip of a life-time to help at a school for HIV/Aids orphans in South Africa. The seven-strong party will spend two weeks at Vhutshilo Mountain School in the summer.The school have had links with the Inverclyde area since it had a new building built with the proceeds of a special appeal held by the Church of Scotland Presbytery of Greenock in 2000.
Most of the group heading out in July attend St John’s Church, Gourock, whose former minister the Rev Jill Clancy attended the official opening of the school building in 2005. Some members at St John’s sponsor children who attend the school.
