Church march band leader cleared
A leader of a flute band which was taking part in an Orange parade has been cleared of failing to prevent marchers from playing near a church.Wilson Martin, 41, from Rutherglen, was charged after some marchers from the Cambuslang Britannia Flute Band played as they passed St Paul's in Cambuslang, where a wedding was being held in June.
He had made assurances that music would stop within 200 yards of a church.
He was acquitted after a sheriff said the Crown had failed to prove he had knowingly failed to follow procedures.
