Congregation asked to pray for love rat referee

Cheating ref Mike McCurry was in hiding yesterday - and failed to turn up to preach his weekly sermon at church.

The love rat was too ashamed to face his congregation at Mosspark Baptist Church in Glasgow after we [the Daily Record] revealed his affair with a 21-year-old Sunday school teacher.

Instead, senior pastor Leslie Edge asked the congregation to pray for the SPL referee.

He told the packed church: "This has been a difficult week for the church and we pray for everybody involved.

"Stories have appeared in the Daily Record about Mike McCurry. However, we have voted to keep him here as pastor.

"We will continue to pray to get through these trying times."

Full story at the Daily Record.
