Lochaline manse row goes to Kirk moderator

A row over the future of a Highland manse is being raised with the Kirk’s moderator after a church official rebuffed a suggestion that it should be handed over to the community.

David Robertson, clerk to the Church of Scotland’s general trustees, has fuelled the controversy by telling a campaigner he is not prepared to discuss the issue further.

Now, Iain Thornber, who wants the manse taken off the market, intends pursuing the dispute and the clerk’s “dismissive” response with the Rev David Lunan, Moderator of the General Assembly of the Church of Scotland.
