Student pastor starts at Gourock church

Gordon Jones was only five-years-old when people started saying he would make a good minister.

But it was more than 20 years later when Gordon decided ministry was his calling and this summer he has started as the new student pastor at Gourock Baptist Church.

Gordon (33) has been studying for three years at the Scottish Baptist College, Paisley, and during his final year will work part-time with the church in King Street, whose last minister, the Rev Hugh McConnachie retired nearly two years ago.
