Church gives its blessing to nightly service

The Church of Scotland is offering people the chance to "retreat" from Festival noise at Greyfriars Kirk every evening next week.

The Mission and Discipleship Council is hosting the NiteKirk initiative from 8pm until 12.30am each night from today until Friday.

There will be chances for people to meditate and offer prayers, and organisers hope to attract non-regular church-goers.
