105 by grace and clean living

At 105, John Wallace has some advice for the kids of today - don't do drugs if you want a long life.

Celebrating his birthday yesterday at the Extendicare Rouge Valley nursing home in Scarborough, the former director of the Faith Mission Christian missionary movement in Canada, credited his longevity to a life of abstinence when it came to alcohol, tobacco and drugs.

Wallace, who first became a Christian at age 10 in Scotland, came to Canada in the 1930s to help the Faith Mission expand beyond its beginnings in Great Britain.

By the time he retired in 1978, he had travelled to coast to coast for his faith.
