Shocking report into Scots secure unit riot blasts management
Scotland's worst ever secure unit riot was "inevitable" after months of poor management, a report has claimed.Youngsters rampaged for six hours at St Mary's Kenmure residential unit in Bishopbriggs, near Glasgow.
Four members of staff were injured and s200,000 worth of damage was caused.
A report into the "catastrophic" riot in March blames a catalogue of failures at the unit.
St Mary's is an independent school affiliated to the Cora Foundation, a charity backed by the Catholic Church.
A spokesman for the board of managers, who commissioned the report, said: "Lessons have been learned from the incident."
